North East Gathering Re Cap
This was the first time we held the North East Gathering in New Hampshire. The drive wasn’t to bad from New York and the hotel was great. The hotel seemed to be recently remodeled but unfortunately they were installing a new jacuzzi that we weren’t able to utilize. The hotel did have a lot of parking and was located next to large additional parking. This is something that we could utilize if we were to ever visit NH again. The hotel was in the capital so we were never far from great dining experiences or personal needs.
Once we checked into the hotel on Thursday. We took a few moments to freshen up from the drive and had dinner at that this great BBQ restaurant called Tuckaway Tavern. This was a unique place because in addition to a Resteraunts; it had a bar, market place, and butcher shop. The food and drinks were amazing and the portions were huge. The overall experience was great and all the guys tasted each others meat :)
Friday started out with breakfast at another local gem called the Friendly Toast. Once back from breakfast we even had a “Ghost” sighting. Paul Tolsma who is local to the region and one of the first attendees of the NEGs was in attendance and joined us for the days activities. We then caravaned to the Depot which was a collection of shops and eateries before we took on the Kancamagus Hwy. The scenic highway offered lots of parking spots to visit overlooks and the sights were truly stunning. Once we came back to the hotel. We had dinner at the Common Man. Which is a staple dining experience that is unique to New Hampshire. Besides a long wait for seating; the food was pretty damn good. Everyone loved the pot pie and the fried pork cutlets were crispy and juicy. The restaurant also had a small shop where we could purchase their merch and test hand lotions? Yes lotions; I recommend the grapefruit one.
Saturday was the big day that started with a car show, lunch, awards, and raffle drawing at the hotel. There was total of nine 3S’s at the show and a few other makes in attendance. Shortly after the show we took a drive to Lake Winnipesaukee region. Once there we spent several hours at Funspot where we got to play new and old pinball games. Some people bowled, played retro video games, played mini golf, and won prizes. Funspot is by far the largest amusement place we ever visited. We finished the night with a short walk by the lake at Weirs Beach and had dinner at The Alamo Texas BBQ & Tequilla bar. After dinner we were treated to a free fire work show.
Im still waiting on pictures from some attendees but you can preview the image gallery before it goes live
